CANOPY VENT FAQ's

Where can I buy these from?

You can order these on our website, over the phone or in store Dubbo.

How many vents do I need?

For most people with a dual cab or space cab sized canopy, we suggest using two vents and if you are thinking of adding the fan kit, our recommendation would be to use one vent with fan as an intake, and one non-fan vent as a passive intake/exhaust. Larger canopies/boxes would benefit from adding more.

This is general advice based on 15+ years of experience and testing on canopies we manufacture, but get in touch with us if you would like to discuss something a bit different to suit your specific needs.

What’s the best position to mount these in?

We suggest mounting on the front of the canopy, up high and out wide, which will capture plenty of clean airflow to the canopy while moving. When stationary the high vents will exhaust hot air sitting at the top of the box.

This is the best way to create positive pressure inside the canopy.

We have included some photos on the product page showing this on our canopies.

Can I mount these to the roof of my canopy or camper?

No, none of our vents should be mounted on the roof.

What’s the difference between a front or side mount vent?

We have two variations of this vent, a front mount and a side mount. Both are identical in appearance and design except for the louver plate, which is orientated differently to suit the application.

The front mount vent is what we recommend to most people. It is designed to be on the front of the canopy/box with the flat face of the external cover plate facing forward in the direction of travel.

The side mount vent is designed to be mounted on the side of a box or canopy door with the louvered holes facing backward to avoid

How do I change the filter?

With the new V2 Canopy Vent, you can now remove the filter from the inside of the canopy without having to access the heads of the bolts on the outside of the canopy. This is done by removing the 4 plain nuts holding the filter housing in place.

Why doesn't the filter slide in and out?

Our filter is mounted inside a housing with 4 plain nuts keeping pressure on the filter seal around the intake cutout.

Unlike other vents on the market, we don't want the filter to sit loosely in the filter housing. This would allow an airgap between the filter and the cutout where dust could bypass the filter.

How often should I check or change the filter?

Just use common sense here, If you are primarily driving in town and on sealed roads, it could be something you check at each service interval.

Check them more frequently if you spend a lot of time on dusty tracks and before and after a big trip.

Our new V2 vent allows you to quickly access and check the filter by removing the 4 plain nuts holding the filter housing.

Can I get replacement filters?

Yes, these are a common air filter that we keep in stock and can post Australia wide.

Can I get them colour matched to my canopy/box?

We don’t offer a colour matching service, but all vents come completely disassembled so if you buy the raw aluminium finish vent, you’ll be able to have it done at your local powder coater or spray shop.

How long will it take to receive them once ordered?

We send most orders through Australia Post and delivery times vary depending on your location. You can get a delivery estimate by checking the Parcel Post – Domestic Delivery Estimator on the Australia Post website. Note: when checking the table, use NSW Country as the origin.

While we do our best to ship all orders within 48 business hours*, on occasion we experience delays due to holiday periods or manufacturing issues, but will normally post a notice on the product page and/or on our social media channels. If you are concerned about time, give us a call and we will provide you with up to date information.

How do I get more advice?

If you have any questions, we are available to discuss by phone, email or live chat during business hours Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays and company closure periods).
